The Power of Words
The inspiration for me to write this post on the Power of Words came from my youngest son Anthony. My wife Jennie and I teach our children that they can have anything they put their mind to. We also share with our children the importance of positive talking and thinking and the effect it will have in their lives. Recently my wife picked my three children Olivia, Brian Jr. and Anthony up from school and decided to stop at Target to pick up a few things. While there she gave all of the children some change to get a toy out of the little gumball type machines in the department stores. You know, they toys that come in the little plastic container. The little machines carried some rope necklaces with a silver charm on it that comes in different colors and the kids thought they were really cool. My oldest two Olivia (14) and Brian J. (9) were first to the machine and both bought a necklace. When it was Anthony’s turn he was extremely disappointed because all of the necklaces were gone. My wife told Anthony that she would take him back to the store to purchase a necklace another day but she did not specify when.
