Internet Marketing Specialist tips for Beginners

May 31st, 2009

Where do I start if I want to be an internet marketing specialist? Tough question, huh? There are lots of ways to begin your way on the bumpy journey to become a internet marketing specialist. Just make sure you are aware that it WILL be a bumpy ride.

First things first:Internet marketing specialist do a lot of research. Find out what kind of thing appeals to you most. It could be affiliate programs, mlm`s or maybe you like the idea of selling other peoples products for a commission etc.

There are a ton of options, and 1000 times more hype. This is why it`s so important to do as much research as you can before starting out on your quest to becaome an internet marketing specialist and start making money online. Sure, you can go the long way round, which is how a lot of us start out, but that`s even more of a bumpy ride…hehehe

Ok, so lets say you`ve decided on where you want to start. You don`t have a product of your own, so you decide to market other peoples information products online, just as an example. Don`t make the mistake that so many people do when they start internet marketing, by trying to sell something you haven`t personally tested.

Put it this way: Who would YOU prefer to buy from? Someone who knows absolutely nothing about the product they`re selling? Or someone who has had firsthand experience with the product they`re selling? You know it`s person number 2, right?

So test the product first. Learn everything there is to know about it. If people can trust you to give an honest opinion, they`ll be back for more. Great way of getting contacts AND repeat customers.

Next step to become a internet marketing specialist is to get a website. You can use a free site in the beginning. People might not take you real serious, but at least you get to test and play around with your site until you`re ready to pay for one. Owning your own domain name adds credibility to your site, and there are plenty cheap hosts out there, so do that as soon as you feel ready.

Make a real fast-loading splash page from which to sell the product. You don`t have long to catch a potential customers interest, so make it fast and interesting.

Another vital step to become a internet marketing specialist is not to fill the page with a ton of waffle. Give the most important information. What can the person gain from using the product? Why is the product exactly what the person needs? What is the price etc. Give people a way to pay immediately, in case they REALLY like what they see, there and then.

If you have a LOT of information, give them a link to a “more info” page, maybe with pics and payment options. Get a small popup where people can sign up for your contact list for notices on future products. Most successful internet marketing specialist give away a freebie in exchange for their name and email address.

Oh look, you`ve suddenly built yourself a contact list! No “leads” to buy from uncertain sources, no “harvesting” email addresses, no bugging friends and family. You did it! Now you need to keep in touch with your contacts.

Why not send them a mail asking for a little more info. Maybe a poll on what type of things they`re most interested in? If you know what your contacts are looking for, then you have something to work with. You can find whatever they need, test it out, and when you`re happy with it, say “Hey, I found something I think you may like!”

Every internet marketing specialist had to narrow their focus. You can’t be “everything” to “everyone”, you`ll just end up spreading yourself out way too thin. Find what works for you, what excites you, and work from there. Yes, I said “excites”. We all need a bit of excitement in life, right? So why not work with something you`re excited about? If and when it stops working for you, drop it and move on.

Remember, you can do this with all types programs, not just information products. It all depends on what appeals to you most. You will become the internet marketing specialist that you desire to be, just give it a reasonable amount of time, and stick with it. If it DOESN`T work, then hey, you`ll have learnt some things on the way, and you`ll be more ready to carry on to the next thing. Don`t give up, be determined and disciplined, and you will find the way to become a wealthy, successful and happy internet marketing specialist.

Top 10 Personal Development Books for Success

May 27th, 2009

Personal Development books are a multi-billion dollar industry. That industry publishes literally thousands of Personal Development books every year on the topic of Success and how to achieve it. From the practical to the new age, there are different flavors of Personal Development books for every taste.

So, what are the Top 10 Personal Development books should you read - which Personal Development books will actually help you on your quest - and which Personal Development books should you toss to the side? People are busy, so this is a vital question.

This is the list of the Top 10 Personal Development books you need to read in order to fully understand the philosophy of success. From positive thinking and the law of attraction to goals and enlightenment, these books hit all the topics.

Get them. Read them. Study them. When you’ve digested the contents of these Personal Development books, you will be more than ready to get to the important part of your success journey - getting into action.

10. Taking it to the Next Level - Brian Maxwell

This book is on of the extraordinary Personal Development books of the 21st Century . Mr. Maxwell explains in great detail how to tap into the powers of your subconscious mind and the amazing effect your attitude has on your ability to attract success, wealth, and happiness. While that may make it sound like it’s new age woo, it’s not. Brian provides great techniques for auto-suggestion and how to overcome the life situations that may face us. You will get a lot from this book - guaranteed.

9. No-Nonsense Guide to Enlightenment - Blair Warren

Blair Warren is one of the smartest people I know and this book (e-book, actually) showcases that. His premise? That while many of us quest for enlightenment, the fact is that all of us have actually experienced enlightenment at one time or another - and probably even multiple times. I’ve read this book a few times and every time I read it I get something new from it. Want to know the best thing? Mr. Warren provides it as a free download. Get enlightened - get Mr. Warren’s book.

8. Psycho-Cybernetics - Maxwell Maltz

Do you want to know how your brain works? Do you want to improve your golf swing without physically practicing? Do you want to be like a guided missile when it comes to achieving your goals? Then this is one of the best Personal Development books for you. This is one of the most powerful Personal Development books you will ever read. This books is such a classic that there is a decent chance that you have read it. If that is the case, then read it again. The concepts in this book bear repeating.

7. Think & Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill

What list of books about the philosophy of success would be complete without one of the best Personal Development books of all time? It’s a classic that deserves repeated readings. I can’t write much that isn’t already written about this book. If you already have it on your shelf, get it and read it again. If you don’t have it, then get it and read it. The proof is in the pudding with Think & Grow Rich: many, many successful people cite this book as a major influence on their success.

6. SHAM - Steve Salerno

The sub-title for this book is How the Self-Help Movement Made America Helpless. So, what is what one would consider to be an anti-self-help book doing on a list of the best Personal Development books? In order to separate the wheat from the chaff, not only does one have to know what the wheat looks like, one has to be familiar with what the chaffs looks like as well. Mr. Salerno does an excellent job of illustrating where self-help and personal development have gone awry - and how in some circumstances it is actually hurting people. Like any other human endeavor, the personal development field has its share of charlatans and scammers. The better prepared you are to notice them before they lead you astray, the better are your chances for becoming the success you want to be.

5. How to Get Rich - Felix Dennis

This is not new age fluff. Not at all. This book is not like any book on this list. Mr. Dennis, the multi-millionaire publisher and founder of Maxim Magazine among others, actually calls his little tome an “anti-self-help book”. So, what will you garner from this book? You’ll get Mr. Dennis’ perspective on what it takes to really become rich. And not just six-figures-a-year rich, but multi-millionaire, never-have-to-worry-about-money-ever-again rich. Do you think that you have what it takes to get that far? Read this book and find out. Trust me - it will open your eyes.

4. You Were Born Rich - Bob Proctor

You Were Born Rich is one of the best personal development books ever written. Not only do I have the book, but I also have the unabridged audio version, which I have played countless times. I know it might be tempting to get some of his other works, but you really don’t need to do that. This is one book that he’s written has tremendous impact on your life and will actually help you on your path to success.

3. The Science of Getting Rich

This is one of the Personal Development books that was way ahead of its time. The author Wallace Wattles takes you deep into your consciousness and reveals an amazing power to us that provides the formula that allows us to discover The Science of Getting Rich

2. The Master Key System - Charles F. Haanel

What more needs to be said? The Master Key System is “the only clear, concise, comprehensive, definitive, distinctive, and scientific presentation of the creative power of thought ever formulated.” As you read though the 24 weeks of the book and as you practice the exercises, you will be training your brain to focus and to visualize. You will learn how to look at a problem or situation or opportunity and to solve it or see it for what it really is or take advantage of it. This is truly a powerful book and the people who study it get a lot from it.

1. Prometheus Rising - Robert Anton Wilson

If you read only one of the Personal Development books on this list, then make it this one. I read it at least once per year - and every time that I do I get something new out of it. In Prometheus Rising, Mr. Wilson takes the reader on a journey through the seven “circuits” of consciousness as delineated by Timothy Leary. What will you learn? A lot. Too much to get into here. I can only say that I have found this book to be one of the most important books that I’ve ever read. I am highly confident that you will agree with me once you’ve read it.

And there you have it. The Top 10 Personal Development books you need to read to succeed.

You may be asking, Why only ten?

I know that it is a common claim in the personal development arena that you should be constantly reading every one of the personal development books that you can get your hands on. Some seminar speakers say that you are “investing in your education” while others claim that reading all the Personal Development books should be like “combing your hair” - you do that every day, so you should read personal development books everyday, lest you backslide into your unsuccessful ways.

I don’t agree with that line of reasoning. In my experience, one of two things happens if a person reads too many personal development books.

  1. The person becomes confused because they are exposed to far too many ideas and techniques, thus they never tap into their ultimate potential.
  2. The person becomes a “self-help junkie” looking for the “silver bullet” that will make them successful.

Both are equally debilitating and both are only caused by reading too many of what I refer to as softcore Personal Development books.

There are two classifications of self-help/personal development books: softcore and hardcore.

Softcore books refer to those Personal Development books that espouse ideas and techniques related to the philosophy of success. They are books that are about the Law of Attraction, how to make friends, how your mind works. Things of that nature. This list is a collection of softcore Personal Development books.

Hardcore books are those Personal Development books that actually tell you how to do something, such as how to start a business, step-by-step guides to learning a skill, how to invest your money. A good example of one of my favorite  hardcore Personal Development books is David Portney’s 129 Seminar Speaking Success Tips.

Once you have read and studied the Personal Development books on this list, you should be good to go with regards to softcore Personal Development books. Sure, you can read a new one once in a while, but you should be quite familiar with the philosophy, if not practicing it somewhat fluently. If you don’t understand something, re-read one or all of these Personal Development books. In most cases, it’s not a matter of requiring another book; it’s just a matter of understanding what you already have!

When you understand the philosophy, that is when you move to the hardcore Personal Development books so that you can learn the actual skills you need to learn in order to become competent at whatever you aim to do.

You see, it is important that you learn that you can do it; then it is important to learn how to do it; and then you must go out and actually do it.

With these ten Personal Development books, you will learn everything you need to know about the philosophy of success. You will learn that you can do just about anything to which you set your mind. Speaking of your mind, you will learn how to properly use it.

Read these Personal Development books and succeed. Or, as Charles Haanel would say -

You must first have the knowledge of your power; second, the courage to dare; third, the faith to do.

These ten Personal Development books will give you that knowledge of your power. By honing your skills, you will develop the courage to dare. After that, it’s all up to you. And I have faith that you can do it! For more resources for Success and Personal Development Books Click Here!

The Meaning of Dreams and the Subconscious Power of Your Mind

May 25th, 2009

Have you ever wondered about the meaning of dreams or woken in the morning and thought “What are the meaning of dreams I keep having?” Do you have a dream that repeats itself throughout your life? What is the message? What is happening is that you are experiencing the subconscious power of your magnificent mind trying to reveal itself to you through the meaning of dreams. The subconscious power of your magnificent mind can reveal a number of things to us when we understand the meaning of dreams.. The meaning of dreams can tell you what the next move to make in your life NOW. By discovering the meaning of dreams you can understand your current thoughts, feelings and how you are experiencing your life.

The meaning of dreams you have can show you a direction to take in your life. Dreams often give us signals about rhythm, meaning of dreams can warn us to slow down, speed up, go forward, pause, review etc.

You can ask your Dream a question and search for the meaning of dreams you have over the next week and look for answers.

The meaning of dreams you are having tell you what is possible for you. If you can do something in your dream then you have the capacity to experience that in your conscious state. Our dreams are necessary for anything that we desire to manifest. ( ex. Thomas Edison had to dream of the possibilty of light for it to come into existance).

Many have researched the meaning of dreams and discovered an upcoming physical problem. Their dream proceeded the illness by 3 weeks.

Another reason to learn more about the meaning of dreams inform us about our relationship to freedom. We all have free will, yet our choices and actions can be restricted by self created destructive  thoughts, and emotional patterns. In the meaning of our dreams it is revealed our relationship to this habitual way of thinking..

A vital reason to understand the meaning of dreams is because they also can tell you about your qualities of self. At one level all aspects of a dream are qualities of ourself. Each person, each element of the dream is you. We are meeting parts of yourself in each person and object in your dream.

To better understand the meaning of dreams we must learn symbol language, in order to understand the message you need to read the language. While we attempt to become more aware of the meaning of dreams that we have we must stay conscious of the point that Numbers, colors, directions all have meanings. Words in the dream often have a double meaning, as homophones do. To improve your ability to understand the meaning of dreams and have strong, purposeful, positive, and empowering dreams we must develop the ability to transform our way of thinking and to become very conscious of the meaning of dreams and what we feed into our subconscious mind. It’s not Please Forgive Me ~ Learn to Forgive Yourself!

May 25th, 2009

“Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” Buddha

I can’t count high enough to number the people in my in my seminars who have a “please forgive me” way of thinking”

Yet scientific evidence has clearly demonstrated that it is the person who chooses to hold on to bitterness and the please forgive me attitude who pays the price…not the perpetrator. Little by little, your feelings about that person bleed into the rest of your life, negatively coloring your view of other people and your please forgive me attitude gets worse. It’s like dropping one drop of red ink into a beaker; soon all the water is pink. Months and years of refusing to change the please forgive me way of thinking will weaken your immune system, damage your other relationships, and robs you of psychological health and your ability to forgive yourself. Picture yourself perpetually tied to that person or a situation! Ouch! And all this stems from the please forgive me attitude, now’s the time to forgive yourself.

Forgiving yourself  is not sweeping the situation under the rug or excusing the behavior away. Forgiving yourself and other people doesn’t necessarily mean that you keep yourself in a dangerous or destructive situation. Nor does forgiving someone require a “loving” feeling.

Are you thoroughly confused? Good. It’s misconceptions like the need to hold on to your “please forgive me” way of thinking that have kept many from reclaiming their own lives.

So what is forgiveness? I recently heard a great definition from Dr. Charles Stanley: “Forgiveness is giving up my right to hurt you for hurting me.”

Dropping the “please forgive me” attitude and learning to forgive yourself  is a decision and a choice. It’s a deep personal and spiritual transaction in which you choose to let go of plans or fantasies of revenge, and to release yourself from the burden of psychologically or physically “evening the score” or “laying blame” and holding negative thoughts about yourself.  Someone wisely said, “If you’re always trying to get even, you’ll never get ahead.”

Sometimes instead of asking others “please forgive me” maybe reconciliation with the person is better, and sometimes it’s not. If the other person is willing, you may be able discuss what happened and make mutual plans for a better relationship in the future. (Caution: Avoid the holier-than-thou approach, like “Being perfect and full of grace myself, I forgive you, you horrible person, for the things you did to hurt me!” or the “I’m not worthy of living and will you please forgive me”. Be sure that you’re willing to take responsibility for the part you played in the problem.)

In other situations, reconciliation of the relationship is not possible. Maybe the other person refuses to change or comprimise, and the truth is, if you totally let down your guard, the same thing will happen all over again. It may be that the person you need to forgive is not even alive and you find yourself during quite time thinking thoughts of “please forgive me” to the person who has passed on. Sometimes, you simply have to do business internally, between you and (Infinite Intelligence) God.

Will you feel better immediately? Maybe. But it will take some effort to transform your way of thinking from a “please forgive me” attitude and develop the strength to forgive yourself. In fact you may find yourself in an emotional battle that causes you to question whether you really have forgiven yourself. Don’t get drawn into a mental rehash of all the negative things that happened. No, immediately focus on the positive decision you made to change the “please forgive me” way of thinking to thoughts of power, greatness, and ability, and remind yourself that after the decision comes the process of emotional healing. (Asking for divine help about how certainly won’t hurt!)

What about forgetting? If you don’t forget, have you really forgiven yourself or others? I disagree with many on this. I believe that as a human with a brain that is a super-recorder, you will have a physical memory of the events, even when you’ve truly forgiven. So don’t tell yourself that if you still remember what happened, you must not have done it right.

The crux of the “forgetting” matter is this: are you choosing to remember, to internally rehearse the situation over and over, and to watch and wait for the person to experience “what goes ‘round comes ‘round”? If so, go on back to your “forgiveness closet”, because you have some more work to do.

Thomas Fuller said, “He that cannot forgive breaks the bridge over which he must pass himself, for every man has a need to be forgiven.”

Do yourself and all those you love a favor…release those thoughts of the “please forgive me” attitude that have harmed you and begin to heal and forgive yourself. As you do, you will release your True Great Self. To transform your way of thinking and springboard yourself to happiness, success, and wealth Click Here!
